Surveys and PreOrder Store!

Hi everyone!
First order of business, the surveys are done and currently undergoing review. I know most recommend I wait until Kickstarter finishes up the business side of things, but I like giving everyone as much time as possible and it looks like they'll be sent out Wednesday. (I'm aiming for inventory to go in at the end of June, so double check to make sure the listed email for your account is one that you check often!) I will starting with a smoke-test, meaning that only a select group of backers will get surveys in the first 24 hours. If you don't get one right away that is fine, you will get one after the smoke-test goes through without a hitch.
Another note is that the Pre-Order shop is open! If you had a friend, colleague, mild acquaintance, long-lost second cousin twice removed, or even a family pet, that was interested in getting some pins but missed the deadline, now is their final chance! You can share the link here, or click on the button on the main campaign page!
That being said, enjoy your weekend!

We Did It!

With this, the campaign is done! Thank you for choosing to support this Kickstarter.
For a lot of you, this may be your first Kickstarter and you may be wondering:
Now What?
So for the first week after a campaign ends, Kickstarter collects the pledges from everyone (make sure all of your information is up to date!). During this time I will be organizing the Pre-Order Shop and surveys. These surveys will then be sent out to you next Saturday at the email address you have attached to your Kickstarter account. (Please double check this email to make sure you get it!)
These surveys help me determine the exact number of pins to order (and allow you to add on extra items if you forgot to do so during the campaign) . Once surveys are completed we'll head into production and I'll update you all then.
What about UK shipping?
The good news is that I just updated my Etsy to contain all of the tiers from the Kickstarter! This is only for a limited time but if you had a friend from the UK who wanted some folklore pins, now is the time to spread the word! You can check out the shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/EmilyAIllustrates
When will I get my pins?
Right now, I'm looking at September for delivery dates. (right in time for Halloween!) Of course should changes occur, y'all will be the first to know!
That's it for now. Thank you again for everything and have a swell weekend!

Close to the End and an IMPORTANT Note on Rainbow Variants
over 3 years ago

We are so close to the end!
Thank you for helping me completely DECIMATE my stretch goals.
So it has come to my attention that the anodizing process for making the rainbow variant pins can only be achieved with soft enamel pins. While the manufacturer can apply a clear epoxy to achieve the hard enamel pin look, I find that I prefer the soft enamel effect. For one it maximized the contrast between the rainbow metal and the enamel, for another it preserves the clean stark colors of the enamel underneath.
While I don't think anyone will be disappointed with the pins, I know that soft enamel isn't to everyone's taste. I absolutely understand if people want to change their tiers as a result and I'm sorry for finding this out so late in the game. While I'm currently out of my studio, I will post an example of the rainbow soft enamel pins to give you an idea of the finished pin effect when I get home.
Again, I'm sorry for only getting this info now and I hope everyone is having a swell weekend!

MerMay Side Project

Hello everyone,
The Kickstarter is doing stupendously and I wanted to let you know about a little side project for all of the artist backers I have:
A month ago a leak was discovered in a reservoir at Piney Point spilling nearly 200 million galleons of waste water into Tampa Bay. The ecological effects of this event can be catastrophic as the wastewater can trigger an algae bloom, which in turn can trigger red tides, which can irreversibly damage the natural ecosystem of the area. This was totally and completely preventable by the owners of Piney Point, but instead they ignored it for fifteen years, leaving the residents and wildlife to experience the effects.
Because it is the month of MerMay, I want to create something that will help with the effects on Piney Point. So today I am opening up applications for Clear Waters; a mermaid charity zine to benefit those working on monitoring the leak's reach. If you are an artist working on Mermay and interested in donating one of your mermaid pieces, if you enjoy making mermaids year round, or if you want an excuse to draw even more mermaids for a good cause, we would love to include them in the zine! (application is attached to the above header)
Applications will be open from now until June 11th. This will be both a physical and digital zine available for pre-order in the future and all profits from sales of the zine will be donated to the Tampa Bay Waterkeeper organization.
Thank you for reading!

Final Stretch Goal Unlocked!

Thank You All!
We've officially broken through every stretch goal I had planned, which means now everything will be getting made and is available as an Add-On to your tiers!
What now you ask? Why I'm going to hunting around for more cryptid artists to add to the zine! While I'm dong that, I'm also going to be putting together a little side project. If any of you are artists participating in MerMay, keep your eyes open for the next update for a chance to participate!
Speaking of mermaids, lets get a sneak peek at the gorgeous Amabie by Shawna Gustafson!
